Free Medical Care for Cabarrus County Residents Without Insurance

The Community Free Clinic provides free primary medical care for uninsured residents who live in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Serving our community since 1994, our nonprofit clinic in Concord, NC helps patients access consistent healthcare when they cannot afford coverage.

If you are uninsured and meet income guidelines up to 300% of the Federal Poverty Level, you may qualify for care at no cost.

Trusted Care in Our Community

The Community Free Clinic is recognized with the Gold Standard Seal from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics and is a member of the North Carolina Association of Free and Charitable Clinics.

We are also the enrollment hub for HealthNet Cabarrus, connecting eligible patients to participating providers across Cabarrus County through coordinated referrals.

Step 1: Confirm Eligibility

You may qualify if you live in Cabarrus County, are uninsured, and your household income is at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. You also must not qualify for Medicare, Medicaid, or VA benefits.

Income reference: approximately $43,740 per year for one adult and approximately $90,000 per year for a family of four.

Step 2: Apply Online in English or Spanish

Complete the secure online application and upload proof of Cabarrus County residency and proof of income. If you need help, our enrollment team can guide you.

Step 3: Enrollment Review and Next Steps

After you apply, an enrollment specialist reviews your information and contacts you with next steps. If anything is missing, we will tell you exactly what to provide.

Care and Support We Provide

We provide primary care and coordinated specialty access for eligible uninsured adults in Cabarrus County. Services are based on medical need and clinic capacity.

Primary Care and Preventive Services

Routine visits, evaluation of new symptoms, screenings, follow up care, and long term support.

Chronic Condition Support

Ongoing care for conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes, including monitoring, medication support, and practical guidance.

Medication Support

Help accessing prescribed medications and understanding how to take them safely.

Specialty Care and Coordinated Referrals

Through HealthNet Cabarrus and clinic partnerships, eligible patients can be connected to participating providers across the county through coordinated referrals.

Our Community Impact

Last year, 74% of individuals with hypertension controlled their blood pressure within the year. 66% of patients with diabetes had their A1C controlled over an extended period.

During the 2024 to 2025 fiscal year, clinic services saved the hospital system $3.5 million. For every dollar spent, the clinic provided $13.22 in services.
