Chris is only 30 years old. At his first visit his blood pressure was 208 over 137. He went back to school in 2009 to retrain for a new career and had to adjust his appointment times. We were able to work with his new schedule and help him keep his blood pressure within normal limits.
Sarah was 20 years old when she came to the Community Free Clinic. The volunteer doctor noticed a lot of bruising on her legs. She stated that she did not know what had caused the bruising. The volunteer ordered lab tests that confirmed Sarah had acute leukemia…in time to cure it.
Bill had given up himself, but the Clinic’s staff would not give up on him. After a couple of months of intense patient education and support, Bill was able to get his diabetes under control.
Mark is a missionary. He came to the Community Free Clinic because of an unusual lump on his neck. Through the clinic’s volunteers and specialist support he was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. He chose to postpone his treatment, however, in order to share his time with a group of young people on a mission trip to Africa.
Sharon works as a health aid at a day program for seniors. She has high blood pressure and is borderline diabetic. With the support of the volunteer doctors and pharmacy services of the Community Free Clinic she is able to control her medical conditions so that she can work helping others in need.
Cindy was a single mother and recently unemployed when she came to the Community Free Clinic’s pharmacy for help. She was in school to become a beautician and needed access to her seizure medications so that she could control her seizure disorder. We were able to provide the medication for free until she finished her training and got a job.
